Summer Vibes

According to several Afrocentrist scholars, black people have a special connection with the sun due to their high level of melanin. Such connection manifests itself not only physically, but also mentally. A particular energy emanates when these two elements of nature collide.

Summer vibes is a project I created back in August of 2019, in which I explore this theory at a visual level, but with a sensual component extracted from the beauty of black bodies, and the direct contact of these bodies with the sun. These images challenge us to define a language that is not only visual but also mental.
